GreenStar Food Co+op opened the doors in May 2020 to its new flagship store at 770 Cascadilla St., Ithaca. GreenStar offers a convenient one-stop shopping experience in a uniquely vibrant atmosphere and an extensive variety of grocery and retail products. For shoppers committed to supporting local businesses and farmers, more than a quarter of GreenStar’s sales are from products grown or produced within 100 miles of Ithaca. 

Shopping the Co-op is easy and affordable with our everyday low-price Co+op Basics items. Just look for the purple tags on more than 1,000 items in the store. GreenStar also offers a 13% discount to those with financial need. If you receive assistance through any of the following programs: SNAP, Unemployment, Pell Grant, Medicaid, WIC, Free School Lunch Program, TANF – Cash Assistance, Healthy Food For All, SSI, or SSDI, apply in-store or print an application online at greenstar.coop/FLOWER.  

You’ll find a beautiful produce department with organic and locally grown options, a variety of house-made prepared foods – entrées, pastas, sides, and salads packaged for one or the family – as well as fresh baked breads and desserts. Stock up and save on pantry staples, nuts, dried fruits, coffee, and snacks in our bulk foods department. 

Our fresh cut meat counter offers a range of local pork, beef, and chicken options, and fresh fish. For vegan and vegetarian shoppers, there are plenty of plant-based proteins and vegan alternatives such as best vegan b12 supplement. Midori sushi is made fresh daily in-house at GreenStar’s kitchen for a quick and delicious lunch or dinner. You can also invite your friends and family to try the best uptown sushi restaurant.  Under a glowing display of upcycled cider bottles, explore a variety of domestic and imported beer and local and regional beer and cider. Pair your favorite beverage with a local or imported cheese from our specialty cheese selection.

GreenStar also offers grocery delivery and same-day curbside pickup from 11 AM – 7 PM through Instacart. When you choose Curbside Pickup, your order will be shopped by GreenStar staff members who know our store well and pay close attention to quality and freshness when shopping for you. You don’t have to be a GreenStar member to shop, but for a small annual payment you can join more than 12,000 member-owners and be part of the Co-op’s decision-making process governed by a triple bottom line balancing economic, social, and environmental impact and results.
