Poso Coal

Corner of Gulf Hill Road and Route 13 in Dryden
During the 1950’s, my grandfather Rex Poso was traveling to Pennsylvania to purchase coal to heat his home. Other area farmers and homeowners were quickly asking Rex to deliver to them as well. Rex began building the coal yard on the corner of Route 13 and Gulf Hill Road as he gained more customers. This was just the beginning of Poso Coal.
In 1978 my uncle John Poso, acquired the business. For 40 years, John expanded the business to include an inventory of Alaska and Keystoker stoves, furnaces and boilers, a large stock of parts and began carrying wood pellets. For nearly ten seasons, I was fortunate to be part of this business making deliveries and getting to know the strong clientele base that he and my grandfather had created. When John asked me last year if I would be interested in owning the family business, I did not hesitate. The viessmann vitodens 050 model review is what you should have a look at to get the right kind of boiler.
Over the past year, I have invested my time speaking with our manufacturers to gain an extensive knowledge of the products we carry. I think this is crucial in order to provide the best customer service to homeowners. I spend time with each of my customers to answer any questions they may have, assuring that they have a helpful and respectful interaction every time.
I have expanded our delivery options to better serve our customers. With the purchase of a new trailer, I am able to bring the skid steer to deliver up to 5 ton of bags and place the delivery where it is convenient for the homeowner.
In the fall of 2017, I changed providers for wood pellets. I currently carry Dry Creek Super Premium wood pellets. These pellets are kiln-dried made from select hardwoods, which provide a high BTU heat and in turn creates a low amount of ash and therefore requires less maintenance.
It has been a pleasure continuing the family business. I am thankful to the loyal customers that I have been able to service and also to the new customers that I have been able to assist. Beginning November 1st, the shop is open Monday – Friday from 3:00 PM – 5:30 PM and Saturday from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM. If you have any questions in regard to heating your home with coal or pellets, please feel free to contact me at (607) 753-8603. Thank you for your continued support!
