Last Call for Photos & Recipes

Posted by  //  July 6, 2011  //  News

The East End Community Center and the Cortland County Historical Society are placing one last call to community residents to submit photos for the 2012 “History of Cortland Sports” Calendar. Of specific interest to the two organizations are photos from the rural areas of the county. All originals will be returned to owner. Please identify as many people in the photo as possible. Photos should be dropped off to the Historical Society, 25 Homer Ave in Cortland, or the Cortland Youth Bureau, 35 Port Watson St, Cortland, by Friday July 15, at the latest, for consideration for inclusion in the calendar.

There is also one last chance to be included in the East End Community Center’s cookbook titled, “A Taste of Tradition II.” The Center is looking for original recipes from Cortland residents, as well as historical photos of people preparing meals in their kitchens, and historical photos of some of the old restaurants that were popular in Cortland over the years. If your recipe or photo has a good story to go with it, please include the details! Recipes can be faxed to the Youth Bureau at 607-753-3023 or dropped off before Friday, July 15th. For photos, the original can be scanned and emailed to Cecile@cortland.org or dropped off at the Bureau.

Don’t miss this great opportunity to be a part of posterity! Both publications are set for production mid September and will be available at this year’s Great American Pumpkin Fest in October. For more information, please call the Cortland Youth Bureau at 607-753-3021.
