Black Cat Antiques

Black Cat Antiques is located in a sky blue barn on Route 38 in Groton.  The shop is just a short drive from Dryden, Ithaca and Cortland.  Customers are pleasantly surprised by the renovated interior, anything but what one expects inside a barn.  Abundant lighting showcases the antiques and vintage collectables on display.  Many of the items come from either the owners’ personal collection or are carefully selected purchases based upon customer input and interest.

Black Cat Antiques is the ideal place to shop for a gift with lasting memories for that special person on Mothers’ Day.  Items are available for all tastes and in all price ranges.  For the kitchen collector the selection includes yellow ware bowls, copper tea kettle, coffee grinder and vintage kitchen utensils.  The shop stocks the largest selection of Fenton, cranberry and button and daisy glass in the area.  We have many miniatures ranging from stoneware jugs, pitchers, tea cups to oil lamps.  Framed prints and signed watercolor paintings are available for home decoration.

Tools are one of the shops specialties. blacksmith, wooden planes, early wrenches, drawshaves, slicks and plumb bobs are as useful now as “back in the day”.  Many of our “user” customers prefer antique tools to their modern counterparts.  Collectors will be able to fill out gaps in their collection.  After all, where can you find a tool made during the revolutionary war?

Unusual items available are a primitive ricer, barrel pump, portable heater for curling irons, microscope lamp, bird head cigar cutter and a magnificent Bradley and Hubbard banquet lamp.
