The Under My Skin Foundation is a non-profit organization whose primary goal is to help those in times of need. Their primary focuses are childhood cancer prevention, autism awareness and natural disaster relief; however they do support many other causes such as raising funds for local firehouses and local arts programs. This year the organization has made raising funds to support the restoration of the Wickwire pool one of its many local charitable community events and is proud to announce the first annual Community Awareness Celebration to be held at the Cortland County Fairgrounds June 28th and 29th. Throughout both days there will be bands, vendors, food, a bounce house, magicians, clowns and much more. Saturday the YMCA will be showcasing a basketball tournament and ECPW wrestling will be on site Sunday for a special performance. Both days will have opportunities to purchase raffle tickets that will be drawn all day for gift certificates and prizes donated generously from local businesses. This event is FREE to attend and is sure to be a hit for all ages! They are still looking for more food vendors, craft and service vendors, local organization vendors, family friendly entertainers and business donations. To be a part of this celebration, to donate your time/talent, or to rent a booth space to showcase your product/ service please call Director Lonnie Pittsley at 607-310-8487 or Assistant Director Gregg Cuthbert at 607-591-3680. Come support the children and families of Cortland and the surrounding communities and allow Wickwire to continue to provide such services as free swim lessons, adult swim, Red Cross training, and free swimming to all.
