Cortland Repertory Theatre continues its 54th summer season with two more productions at the Little York Pavilion in Preble.

July 16–25: Murder for Two, a co-production with Portland Stage Company, is a fast-paced, musical whodunit with a twist—two actors play all 13 roles (and the piano)! Directed by Melanie Keller with music direction by Nicholas Guerrero, this zany murder mystery spoof is packed with laughs, surprises, and nonstop fun.

July 30–August 15: Disney’s The Little Mermaid makes a magical CRT debut. With music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater, and book by Doug Wright, this beloved tale follows Ariel, a mermaid who dreams of life on land. Songs include “Part of Your World,” “Poor Unfortunate Souls,” and “Kiss the Girl.” Directed and choreographed by Barbara Hartwig (Beauty and the Beast, Cats), with music direction by Canaan Harris.  Portraying Ariel in the CRT production is Molly Bremer, who starred as Eliza Dolittle in My Fair Lady, and Belle in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast last summer.

Tickets: Adult tickets are $44 (center) and $42 (side). Seniors 62+, military, veterans, first responders, and groups of 10+ receive a $2 discount. Youth (22 and under) tickets are $27.

Special Event: On Saturday, August 9 from 11:00–2:00, join the CRT Board of Directors in the reception hall of the Little York Pavilion, for the annual Broadway Brunch, featuring a silent auction, wine grab bags, and performances by Little Mermaid cast members. Reserved seating: Tables for four – $150; pairs – $75 (shared table).

Also Coming This Fall: CRT’s “Sounds of Music” Concert Series returns every Wednesday in September at 2:00 and 7:30 PM. Tickets are $35 per show or $120 for all four. Each week features a new guest artist:

  • Sept. 3: Because You’re Mine – Classic country love songs with Matt Cusack and Allison Kelly
  • Sept. 10: Billy Joel’s Piano Man – Broadway’s Wade Preston performs hits with flair and humor
  • Sept. 17: The Jersey Tenors – Opera meets pop in this high-octane salute to Jersey legends
  • Sept. 24: Rock N Blues Revue – Broadway’s Colin Barkell rocks through the blues and rock canon

Box Office: CRT Downtown (24–26 Port Watson Street, Cortland) is open Monday–Friday 9:00–6:00 and Saturdays noon–6:00. Visit cortlandrep.org or call 800-427-6160 for tickets and information.
