Bushy’s ProShine Auto Detailing – Robert “Bushy” Bushnell

It is with great heartbreak to have to share the news that we lost our founder Robert “Bushy” Bushnell on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 . In 1992, he decided to start Bushy’s ProShine with a vision to bring quality detailing service to the great community of Cortland. He saw a need and with his car expertise, he knew it could be something special. Over the years he continued to grow the business with his son Jeff and create lasting customers/friendships that we still cherish today.

He was a hard worker, great attention to detail and always knew how to make the business better. As we sit here 33 years later, we cherish the foundation he created for us and we will continue to provide great service to our customers and the community of Cortland.

Bushy’s ProShine is now going on its 3rd generation of Bushnell’s to operate the shop, with Robert’s two grandsons Randy and Doug taking over in the near future. We are going to miss the goodies he used to bring, the conversations in the shop and everything he meant to us. We will continue to make him proud and continue his legacy that he created for us!

We will continue to run normal business hours as that’s what he would want for us. Thank you to all our customers over the 33 years, for making Robert “Bushy’s” dream to be the premier auto detailing business in Cortland come true.

A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Glenwood Cemetery in Homer.
