Ake Gallery

Fun fine art is what you will find at the Ake Gallery located in the historic Crescent Commons building on Main Street in Cortland. The Ake Gallery’s mission is to take the stuffiness out of the art gallery experience. We’ve got a bunch of wonderful affordable art and one super overpriced piece that is really awful.
In 2001 Paul Kozlowski opened the Fake Gallery in Los Angeles California. Over a 14 year span, Paul sold hundreds of paintings and sculptures, many to celebrities like Bill Maher and Bobcat Goldthwait. Sarah Silverman featured one of Paul’s flags on her HBO special, “We Are Miracles.”
Paul also created art for many Hollywood businesses and studios including a 68 painting commission for the new Cartoon Network headquarters. His sculpture, “Larry The Little Wood Boy” was one of many purchased by Robin Williams and was recently auctioned off by Robin Williams’ estate for thousands of dollars.
After observing the efforts of so many Central New Yorkers making Upstate NY a cultural destination, Paul moved back to his hometown to do his part in bringing more art to the community. For more information on the Ake, including hours and events, go to: akegallery.com.
