CLN Mercantile is one of the smallest local businesses with humble origins, yet we take pride in our effort to carry on a big local legacy. Not only has our location served as a cornerstone of shopping convenience and delicious food in the community for over a century, but it also has always been a place where you can find warm smiles and welcoming hearts. The current owners, Charlene and Mike Nicholas, have continued this tradition since they invested in the business over four years ago. 

Many consider the Mercantile to be the best general country store around. We offer the freshest and tastiest homemade baked goods, lunch and dinner specials, soups, Mike’s Famous Chili, sauces, condiments, deli subs and sandwiches, and a phenomenal breakfast selection. However, there are a few aspects of our business that make us quite unique. A vast array of antiques, collectibles, and other cool vintage finds await your discovery as you browse our cute little shop. If you need an event catered, we can help with that, too! We also do our best to reciprocate the support our local community and businesses so graciously extend to us – many of our vegetables, herbs, syrups, honey, even our coffee, and other services or products are locally sourced. 

The Mercantile is all about good finds, food, friends, and memories. You will experience the best customer service, most likely a few laughs, and can even enjoy a beer or two taking advantage of our on-site consumption license. As Char says, “It’s like going to grandma’s!”, but even better.
