Douglas Withey for Cortlandville Town Supervisor
Posted by Dustin Horton // October 12, 2021 // News
I am your 2021 candidate for Town of Cortlandville Supervisor. The voters are very disappointed with Supervisor Williams leadership, lack of transparency and accountability. As your Town Councilperson, I have listened to your needs and I have acted on your concerns and complaints.
My actions addressed your concerns regarding making the Highway Superintendent an appointed position, opposed construction of the Byrne Dairy fuel station over our aquifer, opposed the Lionidas development on Starr Road, I worked hard to stop a waste of $400,000 for an unneeded building for a second highway garage. Currently, I am arguing against
the PBRT contract for operations of our Gutchess Lumber Sports Complex. This contract is extremely wrong for our taxpayers and our citizens.
As a forty-one year resident of our town, I worked for 35 years at the Cortland Water Department overseeing water rates, revenue and operating budgets.
As Water Superintendent for the City of Cortland, I started the first Water Fair in 1990. I formed the Cortland Aquifer Protection Alliance (CAPA Group) for all water systems in Cortland County. Members were interested in Aquifer Protection and working together to stretch budget dollars, share equipment and personnel. Progressive thinker then and now.
Remember to vote Tuesday, November 2nd. Early voting begins October 23rd.
