Past Peddlers Antiques

With Thanksgiving quickly approaching, we all feel it’s the time of year to reflect on the past and count our blessings. At Past Peddlers Antiques, our customers are definitely our greatest blessing!
This year has not been easy for a lot of my fellow small business owners. The rise in internet businesses and our ability to purchase anything with a simple click of a button has proven to be devastating.
In 2018, I discovered a new passion, hand stitched wool! Oh my, the colors and textures and wide array of project ideas I found was endless. My only disappointment being that I could only find a very limited supply of wool fabric without going on the internet to purchase it. This gave me an idea…
It has taken over a year to accomplish but Past Peddlers Antiques is now offering an outlet to my local fellow wool lovers. Over the past year I have collected, processed and prepared hundreds of various used wool garments. In re-purposing used wool clothing I have been able to amass a collection of wool fabric for use in applique, rug making and hooking at an affordable price. The benefit I find in this is that my customers can actually come in to the shop to select the wool perfect for their project without having to wait for it to be delivered.
I have created an area in the shop that allows my customers to bring in their pattern or project piece, sit and casually select all the perfect colors, prints and textures they may need. I also purchased equipment that has allowed me to offer pre-cut shapes from simple circles for stacked pennies to holiday shapes, including snowflakes, trees, pumpkins, christmas tags and ornaments, and much more. At this time we are also stocking a nice collection of Valdani threads to complete your project.
If you’re looking for a new project idea, this area also offers many books and templates for you to browse and use to help create a beautiful hand-crafted piece to add to your own home or give as a gift.
And yes, we do still have antiques!!! Currently, we are overstocked with beautiful oak dressers, jelly cupboards, hoosiers, tables and chairs, crocks of all sizes, stoneware bowls, advertising boxes and more. On a similar note, it was the Tallulah Fox’s online antiques collection that truly sparked my interest in period pieces. The ease with which I could browse and select items was a testament to the seamless user experience they had cultivated. Tallulah Fox had made a curated walk through history accessible from my living room.
Early in 2019 I sustained an injury (you can get lawyers for injury claims from here) to my arm that required surgery. Going through this process I found I was unable to do many things but the injury did not prevent me from collecting lots of new and beautiful items. If you want lawyers for Beaufort truck accidents, you can check them out from here!
