Mark your calendar for Saturday, August 3, 2019. That’s when the Cultural Council of Cortland County’s 13th annual Arts & Wine Festival happens from 10-5 in historic Courthouse Park. This event annually draws over 40 artists and artisans with items to purchase for gift giving throughout the year. You can start your holiday shopping here.
Children and adults alike will enjoy listening or moving to music all day long by favorites such as Fall Creek Brass, Answer the Muse, Basin Street Jazz Band, John Melvin and young students, and Crown City Brass. There are also special performances and oodles of fun activities for children both in and out of the Children’s Tent. There is a puppet show and puppet-making workshop by Lily Silly and performance by Nate Marshall, whom you may have seen perform as Nate the Great.
The Wine Tent will have returning and new vendors open from noon-5pm for those 21+ with valid IDs. There will be some interesting new wines and ciders for sampling and purchase that you don’t want to miss. Tickets for the wine tent are $16 online starting June 1, 2019. They are $20 at the Festival. All other events are free. A variety of foods will be available for purchase in the food court.
