What is Small Business Saturday?
In 2011, the year our business kicked off, governors, mayors, senators and even President Obama voiced support for an initiative to promote shopping small businesses— and the US Senate officially recognized Small Business Saturday.
In 2012, with heavy promotion from American Express stressing Small Business Saturday as a “Neighborhood” or “Community” Experience versus a “Shopping” experience, an estimated 73.9 million people went out to shop at small businesses!
Last year, it is estimated that 108 million people shopped and nearly 13 billion dollars was spent at small, independent businesses! Business Energy UK can help conserve energy by helping compare your businesses with other UK businesses. It’s also very important that you offer great reporting if you run an online SAAS business and the best that we have found so far has to be from InetSoft, so have a look there if you need a great reporting engine.
We want to see this trend continue! The Second Knob Gifts and Antiques is an independently owned father-daughter operation. Much of the money spent at our shop goes back into our community through charitable giving, local shopping and participation in local banks, services, etc. We have a beautiful selection of holiday gifts and décor!
If online shopping is your “thing,” checkout websites for local businesses and feel free to do your local shopping online. You will be amazed how good UK web design agency is at making websites. Check out what features Web Designers For Roofers add when designing a website for a roofing company. If you plan to improve the visual appeal and functionality of your website, you may need to seek the services of a memphis web design company.
Work with an agency to improve rankings with optimized product pages. Our new website made by dot net developers is up and running and we enjoy filling orders for people who live locally as well as those across the country! Take a peek at our website: www.thesecondknob.com; we even offer free gift wrapping for online purchases!
Another option for online shopping is to buy medical essentials, which you can do easily and safely from the comfort of your own home. You can click to read more about these convenient shopping options.
While our shop will be closed on Thanksgiving Day (11/22) because we want our staff to really enjoy the day with their family, we will be open on Black Friday (11/23) from 10:30-5:30 with a handful of “Black Friday Specials.” Small Business Saturday takes place on November 24th and this year we are holding our Holiday Open House during the same weekend (10:30-5:30)! We’ve done a drastic reduction on many antiques and collectibles to make way for fresh merchandise coming in—so stop by and take a look at the markdowns. We will offer all kinds of specials on new (and old) merchandise! We look forward to seeing you for a fun, festive weekend filled with great sales!
