Welcome back to The Center Lisle Diner! A couple of weeks ago I told you about this hidden gem off Route 79 that is turning out some delicious food. Now we have more exciting news!! Jo and her daughter JoAnne have updated the hours and expanded the menu to include a wide array of home cooked meals, desserts and tasty soups just in time for fall!
They still have their full breakfast and lunch menus with their number one selling Garbage Can Omelet as well as their juicy, hand formed 8oz burgers, tasty sandwiches on fresh bread, crispy French Fries and their popular Saturday Chicken BBQ. They now also have dinners that include mashed potato, veg, and your choice of soup or tossed salad. Dinners start at $7.49for 1 Pork Chop and go up to $18.99 for a T-bone steak cooked to your liking. Fried Chicken and Country Fried Steak dinners help round out the menu, plus they have daily specials such as the All You Can Eat Spaghetti dinner on Thursdays.$7.99 for the meal, which comes with a side salad and dinner roll.
Their lunch menu still includes their cheeseburger with crispy bacon plus they now have several subs such as Ham, Turkey or Roast Beef (all with cheese), 6in for $4.69 or foot long for $6.79. All sandwiches come with your choice of lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, olives and mayo or sub sauce and chips. For a $1.50 more you can substitute hot, crispy French Fries, which by the way are usually hand peeled by 80 year old husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and restaurant owner James Gehm Sr, for the chip. They also have hot subs: Meatball, Philly Cheese Steak, Hot Roast Beef (see picture) and sandwiches: BLT and Tuna just to name a few.
Did I mention homemade soups just in time for fall? The Broccoli Cheese is the perfect amount of creamy cheddar cheese and soft (yet not mushy) broccoli and thinly sliced carrots. The Italian soup is savory with ground sausage and tomato broth. Delish! The portions are big enough to leave you full and satisfied with just a small amount left over for your togo box to remind you at lunch tomorrow of the delicious dinner you had last night. For that insatiable sweet tooth, they have some homemade pies as well as both soft serve and hard ice cream.
To round out the more diverse menu, they will be rolling their own homemade pizza dough for several different pies available. They will have cheese, pepperoni, chicken bacon ranch, buffalo chicken and meat lovers just to name a few, with a large variety of toppings to fit any pizza lovers dreams.
For those of you looking for healthy options, they do have fresh salads as well as sugar free desserts that are just as tasty as the rest of the menu. All reasonably priced I might add.
Their new hours will be
SUN & SAT 7am – 11am Breakfast only
MON, TUES, THURS, FRI 11am – 8pm Lunch, Dinner and daily specials
WED Closed
DON’T FORGET!! That succulent Chicken BBQ starts at noon on Saturdays, served til gone.
So, if your looking for that home cooked meal and family environment, stop on in. The Center Lisle Diner will leave you feeling full, satisfied and like you were visiting grandma for a Sunday evening dinner. Like them on Facebook and see daily specials and hours.
Hope to see you soon!!
