The Piecemakers Quilt Guild of Moravia is celebrating a “Colorfest of Quilts” at their quilt show October 14th-16th, 2016 at the Locke Fairgrounds, State Route 38, Locke, NY.
The show includes over a 100 quilts, several vendors of quilting and quilt-related creations, a quilt appraiser, and a beautiful king size raffle quilt. Admission is $5.00.
Vendors include Just Threads, Fabric Patch, Woodquilter, and Kaleidoscope of Quilts.
Linda Hunter is a certified quilt appraiser. On Saturday. 10/15 she will be available to look at your antique (or new) quilt and provide you with information regarding it’s history, condition and value, for a $50 fee.
Our raffle quilt is a beautiful king size, multi-colored bargello quilt with gorgeous, custom machine quilting by Mandy Applebee of Yellow House Quilting, Port Byron, NY. Proceeds from the raffle are used to purchase supplies for community quilt donations to fire victims, the VA Hospital, the local nursing home, children’s comfort quilts distributed by State Troopers, and many others.
The raffle quilt has been, or will be, graciously displayed at Moravia locations including Jennings Department Store, the Groton Bank, Community Bank, Powers Library, as well as Brittany Station in Groton.
Raffle tickets will be available at Kinney’s Drugs on Saturday 9/24 and Friday 10/7, and at Modern Market on Friday 9/30, from 10:00 – 4:00 each day. Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00, and can also be purchased at the quilt show 10/14- 10/16, with the drawing to be held on the final day.
