Antiques on James

In the heart of downtown Homer is an experience waiting for you. Antiques on James is a walk through past memories. These memories include the dishes your mother/grandmother used to cook and serve in – the tools your dad/grandfather may have had in his workshop – the collectibles at your aunt’s house you weren’t allowed to touch but admired. She has an extensive collection of Pyrex, corning ware, dishes, glassware, salt and pepper shakers sets, glasses, colored glass, art glass, Vaseline glass, cookie jars, etc.
Furniture pieces within the walls of the shop are made of real wood that will last for many years to come as it has already for many years already. Included in these you will find tables, chairs, bookcases, china cabinets, hutches, desks, dressers, stands, etc.
You will find linens, yarn, knitting needles, threads, buttons, baskets, books, toys, children’s’ games, and the list goes on and on. Prints, pictures, lamps and lighting fixtures to compliment you home are displayed.
Handmade gift items include soaps, masks, stained glass, repurposed items, candles etc.
In the courtyard is an extensive collection of unique garden art made to replicate vintage pieces plus cement pieces to compliment any garden. Other pieces are displayed in the courtyard at bargain prices. A Flea Market is held one weekend a month during the warm weather months with outside vendors coming to sell their wares. Next year we are hoping for this to become an event filled weekend.
Five and one half rooms are waiting for you to come to visit. Owner, Evangeline “Cookie” Nikolakopoulos will be more than willing to help you on your walk through the shop and the memories it brings. She loves to be put on a search for that special piece that customers are looking for.
