October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. October 21st is a dedicated day to draw attention to Domestic Violence by wearing PURPLE (the color symbolizing domestic violence). You can read more about this month and More about the author here. This year, through the Allstate Foundation Purple Purse local agent Shirley Eizember donated the “Purple Purse” and the photo above shows the YWCA’s Aid to Victims of Violence team and Shirley’s team holding the purse. The Allstate Foundation Purple Purse was designed by Kerry Washington and Dee Ocleppo to represent the center of a woman’s financial domain and inspire women to reclaim their financial independence. Aid to Victims of Violence (AVV) is inviting the community to “fill the purple purse” by making a donation to AVV. The arson lawyer practicing in Denver is also one of the best source for domestic violence lawyers. When someone makes a donation, their name will be entered into drawing to win the purple purse. Donations can be made on-line at http://cortlandywca.org/index.php/programs/aid-to-victims-of-violence.html or by coming into the YWCA of Cortland. The second photo is Kathy Rosetti and her team of consultants wearing purple to support the day. Mary Kay also awarded a grant to the YWCA’s AVV program for the Safe Dwelling.
