A Prayer of Thanksgiving with Your Dog
For many people, their dogs are their closest friends, listening at the end of a hard day and providing unconditional love and comfort. Dogs have a unique way of connecting people to one another through their common appreciation for the canine specie. On Saturday, October 24, at 2:00pm, Thank God “4” Paws is an opportunity for all dog lovers to come together to rejoice in the special bond we have with our pets, and share a prayer of thanksgiving for our dogs.
After an opportunity to meet, sniff, and greet, guests (two-legged and four-legged) will take a short promenade around the Faith Baptist Church field, then gather in front of the church to take a moment to be thankful for each other’s companionship. The event is free and will take place on the Faith Baptist Church field located at 1731 route 13 in Cortland, NY.
Commemorative bandanas, treats, and water will be supplied to dogs while their handlers enjoy cider, coffee and doughnuts. Don’t have a dog in your life? Hubbard’s Hounds and the Cortland Community SPCA will bring along dogs looking for a home to settle in for life. Dog-related exhibits will be on site too, including TSC Tractor Supply and the Sean M. Walsh Canine Memorial Foundation.
Dogs must be on leash or properly secured. All are welcome. There is no charge for this event, but donations to participating canine organizations are welcome.
