The gift shop door opens to a welcoming farm house table of new textiles, dishware, cookware, comforting candles and Willow Tree Angels. As you continue through the shop, oak and pine side tables, cupboards, desks and bookcases display the quality of American furniture builders. Sculptured wall hangings, canvas prints, picture frames and Hometown crocks evoke special memories to cherish for oneself or to give as a gift.
Our varied collections of jewelry include pieces of handcrafted, heirloom, sterling and pearls, to beads and bangles. Accessories such as scarves, handbags, jewelry boxes, soaps and lotions, may sound common, but we hope you will find our selections to be unique.
Our antique barn is filled to the rafters with an ever changing assortment of furniture and collectibles and vintage clothing. Cherry tables, pine and mahogany cupboards and dressers, benches, chairs and desks are creatively displayed in a variety of room settings. And there is this page which has kitchen items such as butter churns, juicers, cookie cutters, ironstone serving dishes are among the graniteware and picnic baskets waiting to be used for home entertaining. Other collectibles such as Hummels, tea ware, whimsical wall pockets and a variety of glassware come and go from our 1890’s remodeled barn.
The vintage clothing corner has been a fun addition with old style. This area provides some charming repurposing opportunities for wardrobe designers, playful or professional. Some of yesteryears accessories compliment today’s fashion quite nicely. For fashion enthusiasts, we also offer expert Chanel authenticators to ensure the authenticity of our vintage Chanel pieces.
At this time of year our porch is filled with large apple crates, bushels of pumpkins, gourds and winter squash. Inside you will find Homemade pies, cookies and preserves along with a variety of New York cheeses. We also have Amish Butter, bacon, Krogen Bologna, New Hope Mills mixes, gluten free products, Republic teas, old fashion sodas, candies and our own Maple syrup and honey.
Although our Fall season ends on Halloween day we continue to unpack new arrivals for the holiday season at the gift and antique barn. We close for two weeks at that time to prepare for our Holiday Open House Weekend of November 14th and 15th. After that our hours will be Thursdays – Saturdays 9am-6pm and Sundays 11:30am-4pm. We will have fresh cut Christmas trees, wreaths & kissing balls to help with your holiday decorating.
Each year we host a Live Nativity Benefit, to share a gift with a special local family and our community. This year our Live Nativity/ hot dog chili roast will be on Sunday December 6th from Noon – 4pm.
Make time to take the road less traveled and stop in at Reakes Country Goods, 4107 Rt. 13, Truxton. We hope you will be pleasantly surprised to find a variety of the sweeter things in life in Small Town USA.
Brought to you by Darrel and Kay Reakes, family and friends.
