Chris Merta Opens New State Farm Agency in Homer

Chris Merta has joined the State Farm family of Good Neighbor Agents and officially opened ton January 1, 2015. The Chris Merta State Farm agency is located at 19 N. Main Street (Unit D), Homer, NY.

Prior to becoming a State Farm Agent, Chris worked for Ongweoweh Corp – Ithaca as a director in sales and market development for over eight years. He studied at SUNY Oswego and later earned his Master’s degree from Syracuse University. Chris is excited about his new venture in insurance and financial services, and becoming a regular part of the Homer community.

“My wife and I have wanted to own a business in Homer for many years,” said Chris. “When presented the opportunity to become a State Farm agent in this area, it was an easy decision.”

Chris and his family, wife Mary, son Wyatt (15), and daughter Chloe (12) currently live in Binghamton, NY but are looking forward to moving into the Homer school district this coming summer. Chris is an avid bicyclist who enjoys competing in local run and triathlon races.
