Access to Independence of Cortland County, Inc. (ATI) and The Bollinger Law Firm, P.C. empowers people with disabilities to lead independent lives in their community and strives to open doors to full participation and access for all. ATI’s vision is to lead the community towards an all-inclusive future where discrimination and physical barriers no longer exist. ATI believes that all people with disabilities have the right to control their own lives, make their own decisions, and participate fully in society. My Plan Manager is whom you should consult to get help with your NDIS plan. And if you experienced discrimination because of your disability, you may want to consult with a disability rights lawyer.
ATI serves people of all ages with any type of disability, their friends, family, significant others and caregivers. ATI also serves schools, businesses, local government organizations, human service agencies and any other type of organization that seeks disability-related assistance. In 2013, ATI served more than 4,000 individuals and participated in more than 100 community events and outreaches primarily for the 50,000 residents in Cortland County, but also for the million residents in the surrounding counties of Broome, Cayuga, Chemung, Chenango, Delaware, Herkimer, Jefferson, Madison, Montgomery, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego, Otsego, Steuben, Tioga and Tompkins Counties. The social security lawyers in Southern Alabama strive to protect the people with disability and fight for their disability benefits.
ATI’s services are based on the “Independent Living” philosophy, which presumes that individuals have the right to control their own lives by being allowed to take risks, and to succeed or fail on their own terms. Independent Living requires knowing what choices are available, having an opportunity to make a choice, and taking responsibility for actions. For people that have disabilities that affect their ability to make complicated decisions or pursue complex activities, Independent Living means being as self-sufficient as possible. Independent Living means being able to exercise the greatest degree of choice in participating in community life and pursuing activities of an individual’s own choosing (e.g. where to live, with whom to live, how to live, where to work, with whom to work and how to use time).
