Holly Tour of Holiday Homes

The Dryden Town Historical Society is proud to announce their 2013 Holly Tour featuring five fabulous locations decorated for the holidays. There will be ribbons and bows, candles and bells, holly and Christmas trees, all manner of decoration to make each location uniquely festive.
The architectural diversity and historic significance of these locations include two listings on the National Register of Historic Places: the home of Betsey Van Sickle (52 W. Main Street, Dryden) a classic 19th century Italianate; and the Turret House Bed & Breakfast (9 Library Street, Dryden) a striking Shingle-style structure exhibiting Queen Ann and Colonial Revival influences. There is also the home of Mary Ellen Rumsey (67 Lake Road) which was the former residence of Dryden luminary A.K. Fletcher the publisher and owner of the Rural News. For a change of pace, and rounding out our line-up, are locations #4 and #5 both at 372 Lake Road a newly-built two-family home overlooking Dryden Lake and the spacious residences of Clay and Terri Jackson and Gene and Jean German.
The Holly Tour will be held on Sunday, December 8th, from 1 PM to 4 PM with a reception to follow from 4 to 5:00 PM at the historic Southworth Homestead (14 North Street, Dryden).
Tickets for this event are $10 per person (no children please) and are available at the Dryden History House on Saturdays from 10 AM to 2 PM, and by contacting Betsy Cleveland (844-5334) or Gina Prentiss (844-4691).
