CORTLAND CELTIC FESTIVAL 2013 is set to be another ‘don’t miss’ event for the whole family August 24th & 25th!
13th Annual Cortland Celtic Festival is preparing for a spectacular weekend of Celtic Fun!
Bring the family and join the fun & excitement on August 24th and 25th as the Cortland Celtic Cultural Association proudly presents our 13th Annual Cortland Celtic Festival to be held rain or shine at Dwyer Memorial Park on Little York Lake! It’s our second year in our new location for the Annual Cortland Celtic Festival featuring over 55 acres of idyllic and quaint lakeside park setting. A perfect family friendly fun and educational weekend getaway event! The park setting will let us grow to bring in many more sporting events and vendors! Join us this year as we have over 30 vendors, Irish Dancers from across Central New York, Celtic Food & Gift Vendors, traditional Celtic Musicians, Pub Tent featuring Irish and Scottish brews from ‘Paddy’s Irish Pub’ (and their famous Guinness Milkshakes), Pipe & Drum Bands, Clan Tents, Viking & Renaissance Era Battle Reenactments Saturday & Sunday, Kids Games, Crafts and Bounce Houses, Celtic and Traditional foods, and again featuring our wildly intense new festival addition – the #1 on Esquire Magazine’s “The 75 Things Every Man Should Do” … a Rugby Match Sunday afternoon! A Rugby Match will be played on Sunday featuring our home team ‘Thundering Herd’ Rugby team athletes from Cortland-Homer playing against the mighty ‘Mohawk Valley Mercenaries’! And of course no festival is complete without the famous Muscles and Brawn of our Class A Championship Heavy Athletic Competition of the Cortland Highland Games taking place all day Saturday! Watch as many of our primed athletes attempt to break world records in their events! Listen to fantastic musicians all weekend long such as Irish Marty, Quigsy and the Bird, Catch and Release, Quona Hudson, Keith Ian Neal, Doolin O’Dey, Callanach and Blarney Rebel Band! And our wandering piper Charlie Graves! Festival starts 10am Saturday August 24 until 5pm, 10am until 4pm Sunday August 25.
