- Birthplace on the old Albany Post Road of William O. Stoddard, assistant personal secretary to President Lincoln.
- Studios of Francis Bicknell Carpenter, Homer native-son who spent six months at the White House in 1864 painting Lincoln’s First Reading of the Emancipation Proclamation.
- Birthplace of Andrew Dickson White, first president of Cornell University.
- “The Hedges” – Mansion of Jacob Schermerhorn, wealthy Republican and acquaintance of President Lincoln and William Stoddard.
- Mansion of Jedediah Barber (built in 1826) whose commercial Barber Block on Main Street houses the Keator Opera House where the likes of Mark Twain once lectured.
- Home of David Hannum, Homer banker and horse-trader immortalized in Edward Noyes Westcott’s famous novel David Harum (1898) and in a movie by the same name starring Will Rogers.
