Cortland Picture Frame Co. is very pleased to have a special guest joining us for this year’s annual HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE. We will be open Friday evening, December 7 from 5pm to 8pm in conjunction with the First Friday Art Walk, and we have invited Bobbi Lamb, ceramic artists from LaFayette to be here to meet you and share some of her fabulous ideas for ways to use her gorgeous and functional hand thrown pottery. On both Friday evening and Saturday, December 8 from 10am to 4pm we will have special sales on pottery, gifts and antiques and you can enjoy some tasty refreshments as you look around. The shop is filled with delights from antiques and locally made fine crafts to a colorful selection of gifts from around the world. Cortland Picture Frame Co. is now on FACEBOOK where you can see nearly everything we carry in the store and get updates as new merchandise arrives.
We have been searching all year for unusual finds at auctions such as vintage pedestal cake plates for your favorite holiday desserts, and ironstone, transfer ware, depression glass, and unusual candlesticks for your holiday table. Now that it is getting cooler, it is scarf weather again, and we have several new styles of colorful scarves, wild socks, and a variety of purses and bags.
We have been featuring “repurposed” things for several years and have architectural salvage; recycled silk sari scarves, yarn, mittens, and hats; jewelry from antique typewriter keys and antique buttons; dolls made out of old bisque doll parts, blocks, vintage jewelry, and all sorts of bits and pieces of things. We also have an always changing collection of reasonably priced vintage and antique furniture.
The GARDEN ROOM is filled with interesting containers, pedestals, baskets from Ghana, bulbs for forcing, Don Hull has brought in a new selection of bonsai jade plants in his handmade stoneware pots, and who knows what we will find before you get here.
We love the antiques and gifts, but custom framing is still our main job, and Cortland Picture Frame Co. is the perfect solution for getting anything framed you could imagine in a frame. We especially love building shadowboxes and framing needlework, and we have a fabulous collection of moulding to choose from along with antique and vintage frames. We have many years of experience working with archival materials and helping you create something you can enjoy for many years. We also have a slide show of our work where you can get ideas of what we can do with whatever you have.
Please visit us at Cortland Picture Frame Co.,9 N. Main Street, Cortland, NY 13045 (607) 756-6499. For the holidays we are open Monday-Friday from 10am-5:30pm and Saturday from 10am-4pm.
