Sweet Scoops of Heaven

On Monday, April 21, 2012 Sweet Scoops of Heaven opened its doors to the community. Although it was a very wet, cold, and rainy day we saw many venture out in the typical upstate NY spring weather to have great ice cream. When we made the decision to follow our dreams and step out of corporate America we knew we would be taking a huge leap of faith. We are a family of 6 with 4 children ranging from 4-10 yrs old. We spent a lot of time praying and looking for that perfect spot to open an ice cream parlor. We thought we had found it on Main St., however that had been taken. The pastor of the Asbury Church had informed me there was a location next to subway on Ellis Drive, and once we found it we knew that was where we would make our home. While getting ready to open we knew we wanted a warm and inviting atmosphere where families, friends, teams, and other businesses can come and get all different types of ice cream. Our goal was to be a big part of the community, get to know everyone, and enjoy the presence our customers bring. So far we have accomplished that goal. The response we have had from all coming into the shop has been nothing short of amazing. Not a day goes by where a customer does not tell us how excited they are that we have opened and that they will definitely be back. We love to see the look on peoples face when they try one of our old fashioned shakes, our homemade soft serve, or our wine infused ice cream. There’s nothing more rewarding for my fiancé and I to have a family come in with young children and to watch the kids (and sometimes parents) walk out with ice cream all over their face. Last weekend we began serving our homemade pulled pork and homemade macaroni salad dinner and we completely sold out in just 3 days. We will be offering the homemade BBQ pulled pork and macaroni salad every other weekend, be sure to get yours as our response was overwhelming. We have a little bit of everything for everyone, from great products like our Mercers Wine Infused Ice cream, to rich and creamy Hershey’s hard ice cream, and you can’t go wrong. We also carry great tasting Via Veneto’s Italian ice for those looking for a non-dairy product. We would like to thank the community so far for all the laughs, support, and happy faces, we look forward to seeing you all over the summer. Stop in and see John and Chasette, our hours are Mon-Sun 12noon-9:30pm. Questions – give us a call 607-227-4453 or drop us an email sweetscoopsofheaven@gmail.com. We welcome and encourage any and all suggestions for products or ice cream flavors you would like to see. Be sure to look for our float in the Dryden Dairy Day parade as we will be throwing all kinds of goodies! From our family to yours, thank you for your continue patronage!
