Local Builder Publishes New Book

Brooke Greenhouse, vice president of Cayuga Country Homes, has published his first book, Building a Quality Custom Home – What You Need to Know. “I wrote this book for a couple of reasons,” Brooke says. “First, to help people save money. I realized that sharing this information in a straightforward, easy-to-read format is very empowering and enables people to make informed decisions that can save them thousands, or even tens of thousands of dollars. And second (maybe more importantly), reading this book can save people a lot of headaches and heartaches.” Brooke admits that a lot of what he shares in the book was learned the hard way – through his own mistakes. “Some should benefit from my mistakes,” he smiles. Building a Quality Custom Home is filled with stories of real people and some composite stores to illustrate the chapters. There are also useful checklists and other guides.
Brooke looks forward to this book helping people. “Most people have never built a custom home before. There are so many steps that must be followed, from beginning to end, and if I can help people have a happy ending, then this book was worth it.” He explains that it is not uncommon for people to tell horror stores of “what went wrong,” and he wrote this book to help people have a great experience building their new homes.
Cayuga Country Homes is expanding their work to include what Brooke calls “Homes for a Lifetime.” Designed with wider doors, lever door handles and other features to make the home easier to live in for everyone – young to old. “We’ve been the leader in building energy efficient and green homes in this area at a reasonable price,” says Brooke. “Now we are trying to help our customers build their new Cayuga Country Home with design and features that will let them live in it comfortably when they get older. We don’t want the home to be in the way of their life, we want it to help them live easier, more comfortably and with lower energy bills and less maintenance.”
Cayuga Country Homes is the areas oldest custom modular builder. They also site-built new homes, additions and Senior Cottages. The company is an Energy Star builder, Certified Green Professional and Certified Aging In Place Specialists. “We take training and education very seriously to help get our customers the most for their investment,” says Brooke. “If you are thinking about building a new home, please give me a call to talk and if I think my book will be helpful to you – I will get you a copy.” Cayuga Country Homes can be reached at 607-844-4316 or www.cayugacountryhomes.com
