Question: Who was the fourth U.S. President? What family lived in the “Little House on the Prairie”? Where were the first televised Olympics held? Do you think you know? Then come on out to Cortland Repertory Theatre’s Trivia Night on February 2! This unique and fun fund-raiser event, suitable for all ages, will be held downstairs in Hairy Tony’s Pub & Fare, 102 Main Street in Cortland. The doors will open at 6:30 PM, with the contest beginning at 7:00 PM.
Q: How does this Trivia Night work? A: It’s easy and fun for anyone to play! Players must put together a team of four members and register their team with CRT by calling 607-753-6161 by February 1. Space is limited, so interested parties are encouraged to reserve their spot early. Walk-in teams will be allowed only if space permits. Each team should also select a Team Name; prizes are given for the most creative name of the night! During the contest, every team will receive a sheet of 10 questions, and will have 10 minutes to write the correct answers on the sheet. Prizes will be awarded to the winners of each round. There will be 10 rounds, and a cash prize will be awarded to the grand prize winners of the night. Tie breaker questions will be given in the event of a tie. Electronic resources (cell phones, iPads, etc) are strictly forbidden! Categories may include movies, sports, science, history, television, presidents, the Olympics, literature, nature, animals, and much more!
The event is hosted by the Overhead Door Company of Cortland, with Hairy Tony’s offering complimentary light refreshments. A cash bar will be available. Hairy Tony’s dinner menu will be available in the upstairs dining room before and after the contest. A $10.00 playing fee will be charged for each team member. All proceeds will support CRT’s upcoming 2012 Summer Season and renovation costs for “CRT Downtown”.
What tree gives us prunes? How many hearts does an octopus have? What do the letters in M*A*S*H stand for? Come show off your brain power, shake off the winter doldrums and support Cortland’s very own professional live theatre all at the same time! For more information, call 607-753-6161.
