Local Martial Arts School Instructs Anti Bully Program As A Free Community Event

According to the book, “Bullies and Victims in Schools,” 96% of children will be bullied at least once in their lifetime. 46% of those children will suffer poor grades or will abstain from extra-curricular activities because of the bullying. 2% of those children will commit suicide because of constant harassment from classmates.
“There are a lot of kids out there who have to deal with bullies,” says Coach Erik Charles, Co-Owner of CNY Mixed Martial Arts. “The problem is that nobody is teaching these kids how to handle those situations. Our Bully Proof Workshop is designed to address this important and growing community concern.”
The one-day workshop gives children the confidence, self-esteem, and knowledge needed to defend themselves against bullies. Children will learn how to recognize, diffuse, and, if needed, protect themselves against bullying situations. Enroll your kids at Jiu Jitsu Rochester MN, to help them learn to defend themselves, and proper training will teach them self-discipline. Purchase a BJJ Gi for your child here.
Covered in the workshop are techniques that improve body posture and voice tone so that your son or daughter is less likely to ever be bullied. The importance of respect and courtesy is discussed to help instill the belief system that “I am valuable and worth protecting.” When those beliefs are instilled in children two things occur. 1) They will have the confidence to stand up for themselves when faced with abuse. 2) They will realize the value of respect and courtesy and will be less likely to become a victim or bully others.
There is no cost for attending the workshop. The event is being held at CNY Mixed Martial Arts in the JM McDonald Sports Complex in Cortland for school age children from 5 to 12 years of age. It will take place Saturday, October 22nd at 12:00 pm. For more information or to register your child visit cnymma.com or call 607-756-4662.
