The 4th Annual Finger Lakes Lavender Festival Has the Sweet Smell of Success

Lockwood Farm would like to extend our appreciation to all who joined the 4th Annual Finger Lakes Lavender Festival. The two day event brought an estimated 3000 people from all over the area to celebrate the love of lavender. Everyone seems relaxed, took in the sights, pick lavender, shopped our amazing artists, indulge in the culinary delights from Joelle’s French Bistro and learned something new about gardening from Onondaga County Cornell Cooperative Extension. Your expression of appreciation and your time spent with us is also acknowledgement of support for farming in our community.
This year we have Steve Simon and Plank Road magazine to thank for co-sponsoring our event. Without sponsors we could not keep this a free event.
We especially want to thank all of our volunteers. Our ambassadors to the farm jumped right in with giving directions on how to cut lavender, identifying the different varieties and so much more. They worked tirelessly in the field and in the parking lot
A special thank you to the many lavender lovers who purchased Royal Velvet lavender plants, a donation was presented to the Skaneateles Area Food Pantry and to the Skaneateles Area Art Council for the sale of our Finger Lakes Lavender Festival art poster by local artist, Kathleen Schneider.
The weekend was memorable to us and we look forward to seeing you next year on July 14th & 15th 2012.
