The FabCats at Gatherings Restaurant

Gatherings to host “Outdoor Concert” on Saturday, August 6th with The Fabcats from 6 to 10pm with drink and food specials! Don’t Miss It!
The FabCats’ debut CD Oh Yeah!, with a cover (designed by Gretta Gallivan and photographed by Rob Howard) that is a dead-on homage to the first Rolling Stones LP, is now in stores!
The album, which has 12 brand-new tracks, includes Arty Lenin’s “We’re The FabCats,” a bouncy 60’s-styled theme song that quotes over a dozen 60’s songs in just over three minutes. Also included – and highlighting the individual band members’ roles in the history of Syracuse music – are a FabCats reworking of the seminal 1980 Tearjerkers’ single “Syracuse Summer” (a Beach Boys-styled homage to CNY that was written by Frenay), and a new version of Dave Novak’s “Gotta Find Someone,” that was originally released as a single in 1968 by Dave’s then-band The Nightcaps. Both songs have been featured on Ron Wray’s definitive History of Syracuse Music series of LPs.
FabCats biography
The FabCats, Syracuse’s only SAMMY (Syracuse Area Music ) Award-nominated Beatle band, are a rock ‘n’ roll party experience that features the spirit of the 60’s.
From the British Invasion, to the Motor City, to the West Coast.
the band members are:
Gary Frenay (bass & vocals) and Arty Lenin (guitar & vocals), the SAMMY Award-winning duo (inducted into the Syracuse Music Hall of Fame in 2006) who’ve been entertaining Central New Yorkers for 29 years in a variety of bands including the Flashcubes, Screen Test, the Neverly Brothers and The Fab Five.
Dave Novak (guitar & vocals), whose 40-year+ musical resume (inducted into the Syracuse Music Hall of Fame in 2008) reads like a history of Syracuse music; including Carmen & the Vikings, the Nightcaps, the Sermon, CrossCreek, The Fab Five and most recently, the Party Nuts. Dave’s first band, in 1962, was the CazCats, and all these years later, he’s proud and excited to be a “Cat” again!
Dave Miller (drums and vocals) – insiders know that Dave and Arty are, in fact, brothers, which makes the FabCats a true family affair. Dave has been an active member of the Syracuse music scene for nearly 30 years in such bands as Sage & Waters, the Montereys, The Fab Five and Request.
