41st Annual Groton Art Show: Call for Artists

Saturday, August 20 – 11 am to 6 pm
Sunday, August 21 – 11 am to 3 pm

The mission of the Groton Art Show is to create an enjoyable event for all participants and guests. Please read these procedures carefully; they have been established to assure the security and equitable handling of all entries.   1. Artists may bring one or two entries and the completed ID Cards (get lanyards for visitors here), if enclosed, to the Bank’s Groton Office on Wednesday, August 17th or Thursday, August 18th between 5:15 and 8:00 p.m. A separate Registration/Claim Form will be completed at that time. To be fair to all artists, entries WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED at any other time.
  2. Artists living within a 50 mile radius of Groton are eligible to show their work in the following categories*: Oil/Acrylic, Watercolor, Drawing/Pastel, and Senior Citizen**. Each artist may enter one or two original entries, not previously shown in this show. No fees are required, but please have all entries framed, wired, and ready to hang. If not ready to be hung, your entries may be rejected. The MAXIMUM SIZE of each entry is 140 inches measured around the outside of the frame.
  3. Presentation of awards will be made at the close of the show on Sunday at 3:00 pm. “Best in Show” will receive a $100 prize, “People’s Choice” a $50 prize, and three prizes will be awarded in each category: First – $75, Second – $50, and Third – $25. Artists 18 and under are also eligible for “Student Awards”: First – $25, Second – $10 and Third – $5. Prize winners will remain on display in the Bank lobby until the end of August. Only one prize will be awarded per artist.
  4. You may pick up your entries following the awards ceremony at 3:00 pm on Sunday. No entries may be picked up prior to the end of the show. You must present the yellow copy of your registration/claim form to pick up your entry(s).

* Photography, sculpture, and works done with fabric, on china, and other 3-dimensional art are excluded from this show. ** Entries in the Senior Citizen category must be works done in either oil/acrylic, watercolor, or drawing/pastel.

This show is sponsored by the Groton Art Class, and the First National Bank of Groton. Prizes for standard categories are donated by The First National Bank of Groton, Student prizes are donated by the Groton Art Class.

While every reasonable security measure will be taken, sponsors assume no responsibility for loss or damage. Artists are responsible for their own works.
