In the gallery beyond its freshly painted green door, The Picture House staff will be holding its annual Spring Open House on Thursday, May 19, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The Picture House Gallery and Frame Shop is located on 85 Homer Ave. in Cortland.
A new gallery exhibit of work by David and Kathie Beale and Emily Gibbons will be on display and one-time specials on both original art work and framing will be featured. The Picture House Gallery and Frame Shop has been spruced up with a new look including a green door to represent the Irish Heritage of the staff and a 2nd renovated gallery wall. Refreshments will be provided.
In response from many requests, The Picture House will also be offering the first of a series of two-hour workshops on framing topics. “Matting Essentials” will cover the basics of choosing and designing mats that enhance and complement art work. Attendees will be requested to bring a painting or photograph to mat and will leave with a custom mat chosen and cut during the workshop. Enrollment is limited. The enrollment fee is $10.00.
