Cortland Prom Closet – Prom Dress Giveaways

The City of Cortland Youth Bureau’s Youth Center is proud to announce our 3rd annual Prom Dress Donation Drive. The Youth Center is seeking donations of formal dresses, jewelry, shoes, and purses that are in new or “like new” condition. In the past years, many girls were provided with dresses and jewelry within our community. The support from members of the community made a significant impact on these teens and this is what I was talking about to the entire neighborhood.

The donated items will be distributed to Cortland area teens at the Cortland Prom Closet Giveaways. Young girls attending prom within our community will be welcome to attend giveaways for formal wear needs free of charge. All girls attending must bring along a valid school ID.  For a small donation dress alterations will be available to girls who receive their gown through the program. The following dates and times are open for girls to come to the Cortland Youth Bureau for dress giveaways:

• April 9th   1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
• April 20th   5 p.m. – 8 p.m.
• April 23rd   9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Students who cannot attend one of these giveaways are encouraged to schedule an appointment. Community members interested in donating formal wear or accessories can drop items off during regular business hours from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the Cortland Youth Bureau or Youth Center.
