When: Tuesday, March 1, 2011 @ 6p.m.
Where: Cortland City Hall Common Council Chamber
At the Tuesday, March 1st meeting of the Cortland City Common Council, Mayor Susan Feiszli will proclaim March as Red Cross Month in Cortland and Cortland County. Her declaration follows a tradition started in 1943 by then-President Roosevelt to raise funds for the war effort. Customarily, every president since Roosevelt has declared March as Red Cross Month in support of the humanitarian mission of the American Red Cross.
Mayor Feiszli’s proclamation gives voice to the ongoing Red Cross community service in Cortland County.
