Today is All that Matters – Freedom

For about 20 years, I’ve been asking students, clients, and strangers 3 Questions, with the first being, ‘What do you want?’ The most common answer to this question is ‘Happiness’. When then asked, ‘What are the signatures, symptoms, and evidence of ‘Happiness’? the predominant responses are: ‘The consistent feeling Inner Harmony, Inner Clarity, and the feeling of an Inner Peace or steadiness that is Present, Calm, and Lighthearted’. Lastly, when asked, ‘If you lived in a sustained state of Happiness, who or what would you be?’ and without fail, the response is ‘Free – I would have Freedom. I would be Free’.

Freedom is ultimately the allowing and welcoming your experience of the Living Moment at Play, as it Is, without an argument with It. Freedom is the reduction of unnecessary suffering, and the increase in your experience of yourself flourishing and thriving. Freedom is You, living as an offering to others, fully embodying your unique talents and gifts.

The single greatest barrier we place between ourselves and our own Freedom is the quality of our thoughts in our mind – how we move about our day, describing internally our opinions of others and from there, do we believe our opinions true or not. If we are internally very critical of ourselves, others, and events, we will experience little Happiness and limited Freedom. The most immediate antidote to this is to become aware of what You primarily think throughout the day, and to then questions your criticisms and complaints about others. This practice alone has the capacity to radically change your own degree of internal Freedom, for your own Freedom is ultimately an Inside Job.
