Frozen Ocean Motorsports Facility is gearing up to host Frozen Fest, a weekend-long family event!

For over 30 years, Frozen Ocean has been serving motocross enthusiasts, becoming one of the greatest motocross tracks in the country. Located on 66 acres overlooking Skaneateles Lake and the surrounding Finger Lakes area at 4415 Vanderstouw Road, Auburn, Frozen Ocean is a full-service facility which boasts tracks of varying challenge levels. Among these are a Night Cross Track, a Supercross track, a practice track for 50cc riders, an off-road track for ATVs and side x sides, and a clay oval for go-kart racing, and last but not least, a “mud bog” site.

On Saturday and Sunday, July 28th and 29th, Frozen Ocean Sports Facility will be hosting Frozen Fest, a family friendly “mud bog” event. Ryan Walczak, Frozen Ocean owner, wanted to make the mud bog events bigger and better, and he felt that the Frozen Fest was a great way to expand the event,  while thanking all of the attendees that have been coming to enjoy the mud bog events throughout the years.

“These events are generally intense and competitive,” Ryan said. “But the Frozen Fest is a more relaxed, laid back, family friendly festival, just for having fun. Kids are welcome, and kids under eight years old will get in free.”

On Saturday, July 28th, mud bogs will run from 12:00-6:00 p.m., while the band T.J. Sacco plays live from 2:00-4:00 p.m.; and from 6:00-10:00 p.m. there will be 4-wheeler and side x sides events. Sunday, a DJ will provide music from 10:00- 3:00, and folks can participate in more mud bogs fun!

Participants and spectators, alike, are welcome.  “Anyone with a 4 wheel vehicle of any kind can come,” Ryan said. “Even if it’s just a golf cart to drive all around the property or a atv to try out the tracks and mud pits.”

Free fire truck and wagon rides will be offered throughout the event. Concessions will be available all weekend, and an ice cream truck will be present, as well.

Ryan encourages local vendors to contact him if they would like to set up at Frozen Fest. Past mud bogs events have featured vendors such as face painters, wood carvers, and automotive shops. In addition, there will be an area set aside for owners to show off their custom cars and motorcycles; so if you are a proud owner of a special vehicle, you are encouraged to bring it along to display!
