This Christmas season make sure to stop down and see us at the CNY Living History Center!  We have been hard at work this past year going above and beyond with our exhibits and even bringing in new items for our gift shop!  We have everything from hand-made jewelry, to Christmas ornaments, locally made maple syrup, and much more!  We have gifts for anyone on your list so make shopping easy this year and come see what we have!  And make sure to bring the whole family and kick off the holidays with us on December 8th and 9th for two special holiday themed events!  On December 8th we will be hosting the White Chapel Bell Ringers along with the Homer Brass Band to bring you our annual “Christmas Music Fills the Air” gathering.  This event will take place from 6 to 8pm on that Friday night and admission is by donation only!  The very next day on December 9th we will be hosting a special “Train Day” with a holiday theme!  The event will be from 10 until 3pm that Saturday.  This event is special because our featured conductor for that weekend, “Doug Deer,” has been hard at work updating our model train display.  It now has a motion sensor so it lights up as you walk towards it, and it now features buttons lining the sides making it interactive for all ages!  Bring the kids or take a trip back to your own childhood with our “Train Day” Saturday, December 9th!  Even if you’re not into trains, we have three museums on site for you to explore!  Learn about the history of Brockway Trucks that were made right here in Cortland or go back in time and explore our 1930’s dairy barn and learn what agriculture drove and still drives today throughout all of Cortland County.  Last, and certainly not least, is Homeville which tells the local history of the area as well as an extensive collection of over 10,000 military related artifacts and uniforms.  Come down to the CNY Living History Center today and take a walk through history with us!
