11th Annual Arts & Wine Festival – Saturday, August 5th

Join the Cultural Council of Cortland County at their 11th annual Arts and Wine Festival on Saturday, August 5th from 10am-5pm in Courthouse Park in downtown Cortland. This event is open to the public, and fun for the whole family! The festival features local artists, crafters, musicians, food vendors, and wineries. The day’s schedule includes musical guests Crown City Brass, Small Town Shade, Molly and the Badly Bent Bluegrass Boys, Spencer Sisters, James VanDeusen II, BF Harridans Dance Team, Johnny and Lonnie, and Basin Street Jazz.

Over 30 local artists will be displaying and selling their work at booths in the Park, with prizes to be awarded to Vendor artists in a variety of categories. New this year, a Children’s Tent will feature Artistic Kid’s Activities. A Sidewalk Art Contest will begin at 11 a.m. with prizes in Adult, and Teen and Under Child categories.

Food for sale will include Barlow Concessions, BrainFreeze Madness, Calio’s, Fat Jack’s BBQ, Phat Cat Foods, Gabriella’s Farm to Fork, Great Cheese Billy Anderson, Lulu’s Kettlecorn, Simersons Sweet Shop, Wurst Haus, Yakisobas, and other delicious local options.

Festival admission is free, but admission to the Wine Tent is $16 online in advance, or $20 at the door. Only those 21 and older will be allowed entry to the wine tent, and a legal ID is required. The Wine Tent opens at noon, and the first 1000 to purchase tickets will receive a free commemorative wine glass.

This year’s wineries will include Crooked Lake Winery, Fulkerson Winery, Heron Hill Winery, Lakeland Winery, Lakewood Vineyards, Owera Vineyards, Pazdar Winery, Raymour Estates Cellars, Six Mile Creek Vineyard, Thousand Islands Winery, Three Brothers Winery, Torrey Ridge Winery, Victorianbourg, and last year’s People’s Choice award winner Americana Vineyards Winery!

This year’s main Festival sponsor is Equus Advisors Accounting and Tax Professionals. Other sponsors include CNYArts, the Wilkins Foundation, CortlandMusic.org, McNeil Development Co.,  Cortland Eye Center, the Cortland Dental Arts Group, the Local Food Market, CFCU Community Credit Union, CNY Family of Dealerships, Cinch Art Space, the J.M. McDonald Sports Complex, Max Graphics, Tobacco Free Cortland, Merrill Lynch/Bill Maffei,  and WXHC (101.5).

All proceeds of the festival benefit the Cultural Council of Cortland County, a non-profit organization whose mission is to encourage, promote and sustain arts and culture in Cortland County in order to enhance and enrich the quality of life. The Council could not continue to offer events like the Arts and Wine Festival without the support of the Cortland Community, so they would like to thank you for your support!
