Fall is almost here and so is the Great Cortland Pumpkinfest! Since 1996, the Great Cortland Pumpkinfest has helped welcome the harvest season with great food, live music, hayrides, pony rides, a pumpkin decorating contest crafters and much more.   It is a great way for families to enjoy time together with all kinds of activities and games similar to W88 link. Children of all ages can enjoy classic games appropriate for the little ones and some fun activities.  All the games and activities will take place under the big game tent so rain or shine, you can still have fun!

The Great Cortland Pumpkinfest also offers the traditional pumpkin decorating contest. Choose a character from a favorite book, movie, TV show, or music star and decorate your pumpkin in their likeness. There are five categories, kindergarten to 2nd grade, third and fourth grades, fifth and sixth grades, and a group entry where we had children from glossop nursery. There are three prizes for each category and all entries receive a full color 8 x 10 print featuring your decorated pumpkin. Entries are due between 10am and noon on Saturday October 1. Winners are announced at 2pm. For full contest rules visit cortlandpumpkinfest.org

For family entertainment there’s the Catskill Puppet Theatre, returning for their 21st year on Saturday, October 1 from 2 to 3pm. An internationally known touring Puppet Theatre this year they will be performing “Sister Rain and Brother Sun” with a stage and scenery that is sure to transport you into the stories.
