The adventures keep coming while we slowly stay goodbye to summer at the Southworth Library, 24 West Main Street, Dryden.

Get your jammies on and join  us for stories, songs and a visit a llama for a Llama Pajama Party at our final Tremendous Tuesday at 7 p.m. on August 2. This program is sponsored through generous grant funds from the Rosen Library Fund of the Community Foundation of Tompkins County.
Kids Club continues to play Games Around the World at 2 p.m. on Wednesdays.
Explore games Australia on August 3 and South America on August 10. Call ahead to reserve your spot.

Come in out of the heat for popcorn and kid’s movies from around the world  at our Monday Movie Matinees at 2 p.m.  The line-up includes

August 22       The LEGO Movie/ LEGO Challenge Mash-up
(build with LEGOs during the movie)
August 29       Kung Fu Panda 3

Magic Tree House Lovers are welcome to our Magic Tree House Party from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17.  Read one of the Jack and Annie’s adventures to share and have fun with games and activities!

Grab your jammies  and your stuffy and  put your parents to bed!  The Southworth Library is proud to present local author Mylisa Larsen for a Pajama Storytime at 6:30 p.m. on
Friday, August 19.

Story Walk® continues at Montgomery Park with Christopher Myers’ Wings. Read the walk, and then come to the library for a Wings craft.  Guides will take you through the story walk on Saturdays at 11 a.m.

For August, Jennie’s Book Club our monthly book discussion group for adults, will read Prince of Tides by Pat Conroy for its 9:30 a.m.Tuesday,  August 16 meeting.  Books are best when they are talked about!  All are welcome!

Join us every Friday at 10 a.m. each week as we explore a different theme with stories, crafts and activities for children and their caregivers.

Join Southworth Library’s 1,000 books Before Kindergarten Program for a fun, free way to start your child on the path to success. Pick up program materials at the library. Mark each 100 books read and come into the library for a sticker and a prize. When you get to 1000, get a free book! If you want some book suggestions, we will be happy to help!
