October 6 – Rain Gardens

Posted by  //  October 1, 2015  //  Calendar of Events, Workshops & Seminars

6:30-8:30 pm
CCE Tompkins, 615 Willow Avenue, Ithaca
Cost: $5-$10 sliding scale

This presentation by Dan Segal from The Plantsmen will begin with a basic explanation of wetlands in nature, how they work and why they are valuable. Dan will highlight several ornamental native species that thrive in wet conditions and also have important ecological functions. Once you see how these plants are perfectly pre-adapted to living in the rain garden environment, you’ll see how easy it can be to use this basic information to create beautiful, low-maintenance, high-value rain gardens.

Pre-registration is required. For more information or to register online go to http://ccetompkins.org/rain-gardens, or call 272-2292 between 8:30 am – 4:30 pm to register by phone.
