Through December 6, Cortland County residents can express their gratitude and best wishes for the holiday season to the over 24 million veterans and two million active servicemen in our county by mailing their messages of thanks and holiday cheer to: Holiday Mail for Heroes, P.O. Each year the American Red Cross gathers holiday cards from thousands of individuals and organizations to provide a welcome “touch of home” for our troops during this special season. These greetings are delivered to veterans, military families and active-duty service members at hospitals and military installations around the world.

The American Red Cross also supports military families, military and veterans hospitals and provides emergency communications through its Services to Armed Forces (SAF) program. You can give back this holiday season and support your local Cortland American Red Cross office by sharing your kind words and thanks with those who have given a great deal to our country. And if you are a retired veteran who wants to venture into a new educational path after your time in the military, you might want to consider taking a look at these online colleges for military and enroll in a program that you might be interested.
