Summer “Staycation” Kick Off: Something for Everyone at the Strawberry Festival

Posted by  //  June 10, 2012  //  News

School is almost out and there’s no better way to kick off the summer “staycation” season than bringing the whole family to the Strawberry Festival on Saturday June 16, 1-4PM at First Congregational Church of Ithaca (309 Highland Road, Ithaca).

There’s something for everyone. This family-friendly event features children’s games and activities, a silent auction, attic treasure sale, strawberry treats, picnic food, desserts, and more. Children can play in the bouncy house while parents bid on a much needed weekend getaway in the silent auction.

All proceeds benefit the Ithaca Feed My Starving Children Mobile Pack.

The 3rd Annual Ithaca Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) Mobile Pack is a community-wide initiative in which many local organizations raise $66,000 to purchase 300,000 meals for 22¢ each from the national FMSC non-profit. Over 2,000 volunteers of all ages will pack these meals on September 7-9, 2012 at the First Congregational Church of Ithaca. The meals are distributed by FMSC to hungry children worldwide.
