Light and Fire: Stained Glass by Liz and Rich Micho and Pottery by Sallie Thompson will be opening Friday May 6th from 5 pm- 8 pm at Gallery 54.  The show features each artists exploration of light and fire in the creation of fine craft for the table, wall, and garden. The Micho’s are well known for one of a kind stained glass Garden Art,  Their unique designs contain bold and playful colors with a whimsical flare.They are continually inspired by nature, light, and color. The Micho’s have been working with stained glass for three decades. Liz Micho studied with the late Jim Griswold of Manlius.  In 2000, they established Lakeside Stained Glass Studio. In 2009, co-founding Gallery 54 in Skaneateles has enabled their unique glass designs to reach the home and gardens of New York and beyond.

Sallie Thompson has been creating with clay over thirty years. Pieces in this show have been fired in her recently built soda kiln. Her current design influences include historical ceramics of the Southwest.. Sallie fiinds inspiration in the clay as a material and in the transitions that occur in the creative process.. She studied at Oregon School of Arts and Crafts, earned a B.F.A. from Alfred University, and was a Ceramic Artist in Residence at Byrdcliffe Arts Colony in 2006.  Gallery 54 is artist owned and showcases fine art and craft by Finger Lakes artists.Located at 54 E.
